Accountancy Education is required to provide people with the skills and knowledge necessary for maintaining business accounts. Basically, accounting is the systematic reporting, analysis and recording of the financial proceedings of a business. Accounting is as old as civilization. It is also an important part of Academics ever since the modern education began. Knowledge of accounting is a key factor that plays a vital role in the economic development of a nation.

There are four general areas of accounting. They are management accounting, government accounting, public accounting and internal auditing. With proper accounting education and with the use of these four areas, one can easily prepare financial reports that include calculation of various figures, analyses, tax and other projections.

The traditional method of teaching accounting to students is to inform them about the basic concepts and principles of accountancy. The basic objective of modern accountancy education is to prepare the students to handle the accounts of big multi national companies.

In today's business scenario, accountancy has become a very important management tool. For every accounting professional, knowledge of three branches are essential.. These branches are general , professional and specialized accounting .

General accounting education is the primary education that a person gets in school. This includes a basic understanding of the subject. In this level of education a person gets knowledge about accountancy and how it works.

The second level of the accountancy education is the professional accountancy education. This is the next step for the person who wants to become accountancy professional. This education is given in various accounting institute. In this level, a person gets knowledge about audits, handling accounts of an organization, financial advice etc.

Third and the last level of the accountancy education is the specialized accounting education. In this level of education, a person gets the practical knowledge about accounts. A person can become a specialized accounting professional with experience.

In order to become a capable accounting professional a person needs to have a proper accountancy education. It is also important to pass all the three levels of education.
